Marcy Morrison

Bio

Marcy has a diversified and successful career. Her work includes:

• Grassroots development in El Salvador and Guatemala with the Inter-American Foundation.
• International marketing and competitive analysis with Qualcomm including work in Chile, Malaysia, and France.
• International marketing with Bank of America Latin America Corporate Finance Division.
• Development and sales with the Institute of the Americas Energy Program where events were held in Mexico, Venezuela, Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina. Clients included bp, Chevron, Citgo, Ernst & Young, ExxonMobil Exploration Company, JP Morgan, Milbank, Petrobras, SAIC, Sempra, Shell, and many more.
• Sales and marketing for inspirational speaker Azim Khamisa.

Marcy is passionate about international work, traveling and living overseas as well as making a difference and giving back –

• was an AFS Exchange Student in Brisbane, Australia;
• studied at the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain with James Madison University where she received her Bachelor’s in International Affairs and Spanish;
• studied International Management and Latin America at University of California’s San Diego (UCSD) Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS);
• volunteered with AFS Intercultural Programs;
• served on her graduate school’s board where she developed a mentoring program;
• served on the Board of her son’s nursery school;
• is a speaker at a variety of events to motivate and inspire students;
• serves on the Board of the Just Like My Child Foundation (www.justlikemychild.org);
• hosted a lemonade stand with her kids and friends to raise over $350 for Room to Read (www.roomtoread.org)

Marcy lives a balanced and fulfilling life that includes:

• time with her husband and two kids;
• organizing fun social events and spending time with friends;
• continued self-development including reading lots of fabulous books;
• exercising including horseback riding, biking, running, yoga, workout class at the ocean, etc, etc.;
• singing;
• learning about other cultures, traveling, etc, etc.

Marcy (Honnold) Morrison was born and raised in New Jersey, but now calls La Jolla, California home.
